A rare Worcester square dish
A rare Worcester concave sided square dish, outside decorated in orange - red monochrome with buildings in a wooded landscape, within birds in flight, within a basket moulded border, 7 3/4" wide, circa 1772, no mark
Provenance; Sir Jeremy Lever Collection
See Worcester Porcelain, The Zorensky Collection, page 360, number 462, for a heart shaped dish, similarly decorated
The decoration of this distinctive group of Worcester porcelains has been attributed to the Giles atelier, but is more likely the work of a smaller London atelier, for the Dutch market
