A Plymouth baluster shaped mug

A Plymouth baluster shaped mug, with notched loop handle, painted in coloured enamels with an exotic bird in a wooded landscape, and another bird in flight, beneath a gilt interlinked band, 5 1/2" high, circa 1770, red painted tin mark 

Provenance; Creed Collection

This distinctive style of painting is attributed to the celebrated French painter 'Mons Soqui', now believed to be Michel Soquet, who also worked at Vincennes and Sevres
