A pair of Derby figures, emblematic of Fire and Earth; Fire as a young man, standing beside a flaming urn md a cannon, and Earth as a young man standing, leaning on a spade, a watering can at his feet, each decorated in coloured enamels, the pierced and flower applied scroll moulded base picked out in turquoise and gilt, 9 3/4" high, circa 1775, no marks
Provenance; Marlowe Collection, acquired from Albert Amor in the early 20th century, and by family descent
