A Worcester plate, with indented rim, painted in shades of green in the London atelier of James Giles with the 'Horner of Mells' pattern, with clusters of fruits, flowers, leaves and pea pods, the fluted border with gilt line rim, 8 1\4" diameter, circa 1768-70, no mark

A service in this pattern was in the possession of Sir John Horner of Mells, who is believed to be the 'Little Jack Horner' of nursery rhyme fame
