A rare pair of Coalport fruit coolers, covers and liners

A rare pair of Coalport fruit coolers, covers and liners, each with two shell moulded loop handles and pinecone knop, unusually painted in coloured enamels with garlanded vases, and with leaves entwined with a brown band, gilt line rims, 11 1/2" high, circa 1800-10, no marks

These, remarkable fruit coolers, which have survived in immaculate condition, relate to 18th century Worcester porcelain decorated in the London atelier of James Giles with the Sheridan pattern. We do not record comparable decoration on Coalport, probably by an independent London atelier, in our archive
