A Derby inkstand
A Derby rectangular inkstand, in Neo-Classical style, fitted with two fluted column shaped pots and covers each with pinecone knop, one as an inkwell and one as a sander, a column shaped taperstick and a rear compartment, moulded with a ram's head and laurel swags, the cover with a garlanded lamb, and painted overall in coloured enamels with flowers and leaves, and picked out in turquoise and gilt, on paw feet, 8 1/4" wide, circa 1780, no mark
