A Worcester plate, painted in coloured enamels with the Mrs Arthur James Pattern, with exotic birds in an extensive wooded landscape, butterflies and insects, within a purple 'shagreen' and pink chevron panelled border, interspersed with turquoise diaper and gilt flower and leaf cartouches, gilt dentil rim, 8 1/2" diameter, circa 1775, no mark

it is believed that only one dessert service and one tea and coffee service were made in this lavish pattern
