A pair of Minton 'Newcastle Embossed' plates, each finely painted in coloured enamels by Joseph Bancroft with a spray of flowers and leaves, the border with three further flower sprays, within scroll moulded cartouches, on a green and gilt basket moulded ground, 9 1/2" diameter, circa 1841, pattern number 4822
