An unrecorded Chelsea oval bonbonniere, in the form of a two handled basket, containing a water barrel, a scythe, a kerchief and a staff, and a ribbon inscribed 'Tresort de la...', on a flower and leaf moulded ground, the gilt metal mounted enamel hinged cover painted with flowers to the interior and exterior, 2 3/8" wide, circa 1755, no mark
This rare box, probably emblematic of Agriculture, is not recorded in the literature, although related boxes emblematic of the Arts and Sciences are known
