A rare Worcester plate

A rare Worcester 'Blind Earl' plate, moulded in relief with two rose buds and leaves, and painted in coloured enamels in the London atelier of James Giles with a spray of flowers and leaves, and scattered flowers, the indented border with gilt line rim, 7 5/8" diameter, circa 1765-70, no mark

Provenance; English Private Collection

See Stephen Hanscombe, James Giles, China and Glass Painter, number 7, for a similar plate. Examples of this shape painted in the Giles workshop with flowers rather than insects are rarely found
