A very fine Chamberlain's Worcester plate

A very fine Chamberlain's Worcester plate, painted in coloured enamels with the arms of Richmond Gale Braddyll, and with motto 'Cognoies Toy Mesme', flanked by flowers, and surmounted by three crests, within a raised paste gilt 'C' scroll and 'jewelled' border, the claret ground with lobed pale yellow ground panels of butterflies, alternating with flowers and leaves, within raised gilt cartouches, gilt gadrooned rim, 9 3/4" diameter, circa 1840, script London address mark in iron red

Provenance; Probably commissioned by the family of Thomas Richmond Gale Braddyll (1776-1862), of Highland Castle, Cumbria and Conishead Priory, Lancaster
