A rare Worcester saucer dish

Provenance:
English Private Collection

Literature:
See 18th Century English Transfer Printed Porcelain and Enamels, The Joseph M Handley Collection, page 175, for another saucer dish with a version of this print, but lacking the birds in flight

A rare Worcester saucer dish, finely printed in black with an extensive European landscape, with a church, cottages, a three span bridge, a fisherman and other figures, black line rim, 7 1/8" diameter, circa 1765, no mark

It has been suggested that this print may be the work of Lowick, a pupil of Robert Hancock, although no signed examples of Lowick's work are known
