A pair of Worcester deep plates, each finely painted in coloured enamels in the London atelier of James Giles with a version of the Lady Mary Wortley Montagu Pattern, with a central cluster of flowers and fruits, the blue scale ground with three panels of exotic birds perched on rockwork, within gilt flower, leaf and trellis cartouches, the indented border with gilt line rim, 8 3/4" diameter, circa 1770, blue fret mark

This is version Five of the Lady Mary Wortley Montagu Patterns, the only version with fruits in addition to flowers in the central reserve
