A rare Chelsea saucer dish, finely painted in coloured enamels with five naked children fishing, in a rocky landscape, above boulders and branches, brown line rim, 7 1/8" diameter, circa 1755, red anchor mark
See The Rous Lench Collection, Christies, London 29th and 30th May 1990, lots 331 and 332, for two trembleuse tea bowls and saucers similarly decorated. A further saucer dish, the composition virtually identical to this example was exhibited E C C Loan Exhibition, 1948, number 234
